How long have you owned a sled dog?

12 years

What made you want a sled dog?

I got one for my wife’s birthday!!

First sled dogs name and what breed?
Suki Siberian husky

How long have you been working as a volunteer in animal rescue, and with Saints?
Almost as long as Saints have been going, it was the first time I dipped my toe in the waters of rescue

What made you want to join Saints?
My wife!! And of course the love of the huskies and not realising at the time how many were in need

Worst owning a sled dog?
Photo evidence would be amazing to accompany this the usual chewing of anything I hold dear-
it’s like they know! But the worst feeling was a training session in a forest at night: a four dog team on
the rig and as we were stationary I let go of the handlebars to adjust my gloves- at the same time they
spotted something to chase. Cue me going backwards onto the floor and watching the team and rig
disappear into the darkness… It was a long chase to get them back

Best owning a sled dog memory?
Getting first place in bikejor with Odin my first male husky. Watching him give his all around the

route and then bouncing about at the end wanting to go again
