Freya is a very happy-go-lucky kind of girl who just LOVES to have a fun time. She enjoys play times with the other dogs, lots of cuddles and the occasional treat or two... Despite her spinal condition she still likes to go on regular shorter walks and hydrotherapy to keep her strong.
Type of home needed
Freya needs a home who will be able to embrace her condition, giving her the time and patience she deserves. She would suit a family with another, calmer dog for company and a family who will keep up with building her strength and fitness with hydrotherapy.
Freya is a special little girl who has a spine abnormality due to a trauma as a puppy.
She is a little different to other dogs when she walks and does has some issues with incontinence which is barely noticeable throughout the day time just when she wakes up in the morning.
While being in Saints Sled Dog Rescue, Freya has received a MRI scan so we could see exactly what is going on with her and to make sure that she doesn't need any further medical treatment associated to her spine. The scan has confirmed that nothing further can be done to her spine but that she isn't in any discomfort or pain, just limited on her abilities.
The trauma as a puppy was left un-operated but the past doesn't stop Freya loving life! She is great with other dogs and brilliant with children. Despite the way she walks she can still chase small furries and likes to excitedly bunny-hop around the garden while playing with the other dogs.
