On the 2nd August 2015 Wendy Farrar challenged her long term condition of agoraphobia by completing a sponsored walk in aid of Saints Sled Dog Rescue.
The first part of her challenge was to travel from her home in Telford to Aberystwyth where she would walk the entire length of the promenade with her dogs Mishka and Zeta. To most of us this would be easy but due to Wendy's condition, together with the weeks of anxiety and panic leading up to the day this was a massive challenge for Wendy. She was absolutely terrified but she was determined to do this to raise money for the dogs.
This was already a very emotional day for Wendy and her family as it was the 2nd Anniversary of the death of her Mother whose wish it was to take Wendy to the seaside. Sadly that never happened and this walk was done in her memory.
Here are a few photographs of the challenge - Wendy is accompanied by her Partner Phil, daughter Rebecca, very good friend Vicki and other close family members along with Saints Coordinators Rob Davie, Simon Prosser & Beverley MacDonald along with Rob's wife Sheila.
Saints would like say an enormous thank you to Wendy Farrar for this special donation and send her all our best wishes for continued success in her battle against this debilitating illness. We are very truly humbled that she chose our charity to support.
