An update on Shadow

You may all remember our urgent appeal for donations for 10.5 year old Alaskan Malamute Shadow earlier in the month (if not, you can read all about it here). Well Shadow has now been to the vets for bloods, x-rays and an ear clean.

He had a bad ear infection and the x-rays showed that he had an old injury, a fractured pelvis, that hadn't been treated as well as an arthritic back leg and a bad knee. The x-rays were sent off to the Orthopaedic specialist and due to Shadow's age he would not recommend surgery due to the complications of healing and infections.

Shadow will be on pain medication, joint supplements and will benefit from hydrotherapy to build his muscle mass over his back end which will help support his poorly legs.

Take a look at Shadow now:

Shadow is a lovely boy who will soon be looking for his forever home once we have the all clear from the vets, you can register your interest in Shadow via our website. He will need a forever home who can enjoy an old boy who wants to plod and chill out on the sofa, he is a bit grumpy whilst his pain medication are adjusting but does enjoy a cuddle when he wants.

Thank you so much to anyone who made a donation toward Shadow's veterinary treatments. If you would like to donate toward Shadow's ongoing medical treatments, see below for ways to donate:
